Scope limit. This module covers the 1949 Conventions only. Additional Protocol I — in particular Article 36 on the review of new weapons and methods of warfare, and Article 57 on precautions in attack — carries the review and human-judgment obligations most often invoked for autonomous systems, and is not addressed here.
